Barney the Dinosaur is an anthrophomorbic purple and green Tyrannosaurus in stuffed-animal likeness, who comes to life through a child's imagination. He is best known for his friendly, kind, optimistic personality and positive attitude.
In the Barney franchise, his theme song is "Barney is a Dinosaur," whose tune is based on "Yankee Doodle". Barney often quotes things as being "Super dee-duper". Episodes frequently end with the song "I Love You", which is based on the tune to "This Old Man", which happens to be one of Barney's favorite songs.
Despite being a carnivorous type dinosaur, Barney likes many different foods such as fruits and vegetables, but his main favorite is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich with a glass of milk.
Other than his presence on the show, he is known to have a toxic hatedom (mostly from the GoAnimate Community).

Barney makes his debut in Episode 3 as he interrupts Leopold and Johnny watching JoJo. After that occurrence, Leopold and Johnny will fight him until his HP into 0. After Barney's defeat, Johnny throws his Spiel-Exploder to him. Johnny's Spiel-Exploder makes him died and never return again.
In Episode 3 remake, Barney is Hitler's idea to ruin Leopold's life by making him appear on Johnny's TV when Leopold, Johnny and Jack are watching Mr. Bean. Then, Leopold, Johnny and Jack fight him until his defeat. After Barney's defeat, Leopold kills him with potentially explosive laser from his Keyboard Master.
Barney's death means Leopold, Johnny and Jack return to the show they've watched but in World Tour Arc, he states to Leopold's Crew that he wasn't dead after Leopold killed him and starts to ruin Leopold's life again.
In "AGK in BND of Doom" crossover OVAs with TheDankAGK2000, he appears as the minor antagonist and his role is playing whenever any characters walk/run into him. When a flint gas lighter (AGK:BNDoDBME)/Stun gun being used by any characters (AGK:BNDoDC) into him, Barney shows his taste of pain until his appearance becomes grotesque zombie alike (AGK:BNDoDBME)/Paralyzed for an hour (AGK:BDoDC).

- In Atarster's AGK Series, Barney first appeared in Episode 7: AGK's Nightmare who sing his song to bother Leopold, and he also appears in Episode 39: AGK Meets Kermit The Frog, because he wants Leopold and Kermit to play with him. He also appears in Episode 78: AGK VS. Barney Again, because Leonard Slikk, his youngest brother, left a Barney Plush Toy with him, until he transforms into a Real Barney.
